Y.H.S. Prom wrap up - Calla Lilies

Every year we create a few corsages with
miniature Calla Lilies. I like to work with them even though they can be
a little spendy. Their graceful shape help make an elegant corsage.

A couple callas with three orchid accents... gorgeous!

This white & blue design was one of my favorites- you can't see it, but I added rhinestones to the inside of each lily in the corsage like you see in the boutonniere.

Miniature Calla Lilies are pretty easy to use in corsages- just be sure to place them into the
ribbon base the way you like... BEFORE you glue!

Miniature Callas come in lots of colors-
(I find the smaller 40cm size are the best for prom work.)

As always, contact your local florist early so these flowers can be ordered for you if needed.

I pinned this calla corsage after I posted about Y.H.S. prom 2013
There were lots of great designs we did last year but this one has received the most
pinterest love!

The bracelet used is 'High Voltage' by Fitz design in turquoise.
One of my favorite styles since they each have at least a couple different colors within those
carnival glass- like beads.

Small pink callas and a couple (dyed) blue orchid blooms are the only flowers I used. The glittered ribbon is 'Bolton' from Pioneer Wholesale.

Here is Emily & her date Garret-
and with her mom...

I don't usually get to see our corsages or bouts worn with the dress or tux- usually they are picked up in a rush by students on their way home to get dressed or fresh from the salon,
hair done, but dressed in comfy clothes.
These photos are such a treat!
Thanks so much for sharing them.

Y.H.S Prom Recap

Unlike some guest posters on Prom Flowers who have multiple proms from April to June,
In my  town, Yerington, NV, there is only one high school, and one prom.
The big event happened a couple weeks ago April 13th.

Needless to say we made the most of it!
We had lots of new bracelet styles to choose from, beautiful jewelry from
Fitz Design and of course our hand crafted wire cuffs.
Girls were busy deciding on ribbons and rhinestones while
the boys waited patiently...

Orders started piling up & we got to work!

The end result...

These two I thought looked wonderfully vintage..

Callas..
I love this one- it's just so sweet and girly isn't it?

and this one too..
so glamorous!

LOVE that they chose the complimentary color yellow for this corsage to
wear with a rich purple dress. Notice the rhinestone spray.. a
tiny flower and dragonfly!

Feathers!..

Here is a (not so good) photo of a boutonniere we did this year
The style is in the simplicity.
Designed on a square of rhinestone fabric
and attached with a magnet.
