Y.H.S. Prom Wrap-up!

Every year we make dozens of corsages and boutonniere's
for prom. There are always those few corsages
that are a little different or just turn out
better than expected...
Here are some of my favorites from this year..

This pretty lavender calla pair with hyacinth blooms.
and this white & coral corsage
(looking very orange in this photo)

This lovely pink calla corsage belongs to Chloe.. We did another corsage for her a while back
One thing about being a small town florist is creating these corsages year after year for the same girl and in some cases other members of the family. It's wonderful to hear about how much
they loved certain corsages they've worn in the past.

I had a surprise visit from one of my very first prom customers (Swayze) who came in with her brother (Josh)  to
pick up his corsage...
Josh's purple orchid wrist corsage

She Still had a photo of it on her phone ..
(hearing that made my day)

Swayze's pink orchid wrist corsage & matching bout. 2008

Here's the finished corsage from the 'Inspired by Wire' post
The matching boutonniere is attached with
a magnet.

Love this red , white & gold corsage on the gold rhinestone bracelet.
All the gold ribbons to one side with the rhinestone accents opposite.

Y.H.S Prom Recap

Unlike some guest posters on Prom Flowers who have multiple proms from April to June,
In my  town, Yerington, NV, there is only one high school, and one prom.
The big event happened a couple weeks ago April 13th.

Needless to say we made the most of it!
We had lots of new bracelet styles to choose from, beautiful jewelry from
Fitz Design and of course our hand crafted wire cuffs.
Girls were busy deciding on ribbons and rhinestones while
the boys waited patiently...

Orders started piling up & we got to work!

The end result...

These two I thought looked wonderfully vintage..

Callas..
I love this one- it's just so sweet and girly isn't it?

and this one too..
so glamorous!

LOVE that they chose the complimentary color yellow for this corsage to
wear with a rich purple dress. Notice the rhinestone spray.. a
tiny flower and dragonfly!

Feathers!..

Here is a (not so good) photo of a boutonniere we did this year
The style is in the simplicity.
Designed on a square of rhinestone fabric
and attached with a magnet.

New wire cuffs

So this is our second year doing these-
 I love them.
They look fabulous on and they fit
everyone!

Wire cuffs and armbands for 2012

Shown in the photo are a couple of the longer
armband styles (in the back )
along with three of the popular free-form cuffs.

I love this new design shown below- I think it's one of my favorites.

Black & Silver wire cuff and matching bout.

The matching boutonniere is shown with it.
Just one or two special blooms are all you need with this ornate wrist cuff.

Here is the same style in red with the flowers added...

Red and black wire cuff and matching bout with red spray roses and hyacinth & wax flower blooms

I would recommend simple elegant flowers with these- single rose blooms, miniature cymbidium orchids, dendrobium orchids, or a couple of mini calla lilies placed diagonally.
